My Story
An entrepreneurship
story that stands out to me the most is a biotechnology meeting I had in high
school. My sophomore year of high school the biotech academy invited a couple
entrepreneurs in the biotechnology industry to talk to us. We were then able to
walk around and take to each entrepreneur and ask questions and to me, it was
one of the most enriching experiences I have ever had. I was talking to a young
entrepreneur who started his own company and was dealing with companies like
Shell and BP. We talked for a bit and the largest piece of advice he gave that
still follows me to this day is “never let anyone tell you your idea isn’t
worth it.” I feel that a lot of the time people have an idea that they believe
in and they show it to other people that write it off and they give up on that
idea immediately. His advice was to believe in yourself and turn your visions
into reality. The reason why I am taking
this class is for Innovation Academy, but I always try to keep an open mind and
I am extremely open to different mindsets and ideas. I hope to become a more
well-rounded individual by taking this class. This class causes you to open
your mind and look at your environment and see opportunities. I hope to be able
to use the ideas from this class to cultivate my own ideas.
